Specialty Course – Naturalist

The PADI Underwater Naturalist course is designed to create an awareness and sense of responsibility and respect for the aquatic environment. It is an introductory course to aquatic organisms and their environment. We also look at the impact of man on the underwater realm, the mythology and the relationships between aquatic animals and human interaction.

Schedule

Tuesday evening – 6pm-9pm theory review

Saturday – 2 open water dives

Tuesday – 6pm-9pm critter debrief and review.

Prerequisites

PADI Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent rating with another training agency).

Cost Includes

PADI Naturalist Manual, 2 evenings of knowledge development sessions, 2 open water dives, use of tanks & weights and PADI Certification upon successful completion.

Requirements

• Complete SCUBA unit including alternate air source SPG, computer & compass
• Exposure suit – drysuit or wetsuit
• Mask, snorkel, boots & fins
• Weight System
• Slate with pencil
• Dive knife
• Log Book
• 1 passport style photograph
• Suggested but not mandatory – magnifying glass, plastic bags, small screw top clear containers, waterproof identification charts.
